Product of the Year 2021
Completely flat magnetic thresholds, first recognised with the German Design Award, have now been honoured by the German online platform “bfb – barrierefreies Bauen”. This platform annually awards the best construction products and solutions that meet the requirements of barrier-free design. A necessary condition is enabling users — people of all ages and with varying levels of mobility — to live comfortably and safely. The zero threshold was selected as the Product of the Year 2021 by a jury of experts as well as by readers’ votes.
The magnetic thresholds won the “Product of the Year 2021” title thanks to their universal design, convenience and long-term functionality. These thresholds also meet the certification requirements for passive houses.
With the high tightness and thermal insulation parameters of the thresholds, confirmed by certification, it is possible to avoid unnecessary level differences in buildings. And this applies not only to passive houses, but to all buildings and apartments, regardless of whether they are standard or energy-efficient.
Magnetic thresholds have been providing comfortable and safe access for every user — regardless of age or mobility — for 25 years. They perform exceptionally well even in challenging weather conditions such as driving rain, snow or storms. In addition, they meet high acoustic insulation requirements, certified up to Rw = 46 dB.
The magnetic zero threshold is compatible with all door profile systems available on the market, whether made of timber, PVC or aluminium. It has been tested and certified with many leading profile systems while maintaining top-level tightness parameters.
Magnetic thresholds are the only solution on the market that offer complete freedom in designing door and balcony constructions with a 0 mm threshold, while ensuring tightness up to 900 Pa.
