Periodic verification of compliance or non-compliance of the production process with installation guidelines and general principles for manufacturing Combi systems, along with the implementation of necessary corrective actions, is an effective method of eliminating errors and their consequences, such as complaints. Therefore, an audit helps control losses (including material and financial), ensure the highest quality of your products, and develop effective team actions, making it a valuable tool for optimizing the production process.
To support you in carrying out your activities, we are introducing a new solution – control audits for the correctness of the COMBI threshold system installation process. The purpose of the audit is to periodically check the production process on selected structures.
HOW DOES THE AUDIT OF THRESHOLD SYSTEM INSTALLATION ACCURACY WORK?
STAGE I – Planning the audit – jointly agreeing on the date, the client providing details of the structure (profile system, dimensions, etc.), and compiling the technical documentation (which will supplement the audit documentation as an attachment to the protocol and serve as the basis for compliance assessment).
STAGE II – Conducting the audit – a thorough inspection of individual production stages according to the protocol checklist, based on the provided technical documentation. Preparation of the final report by the auditor.
STAGE III – Presentation of the audit report – a closing meeting with all involved parties (all audit participants, DTH, the person responsible for production in the given area, and other individuals indicated by the client).
STAGE IV – Post-audit actions – if the situation requires it, for example, when corrective measures involve a longer process that needs our continued monitoring or support.
WHAT ASPECTS ARE ASSESSED DURING THE AUDIT?
The installation process of individual components and the final product is verified based on:
- available installation instructions,
- attached technical documentation
- other attachments (e.g., technology report, product specification).
The control process at the client’s site is carried out according to a checklist, based on the data contained in the documentation. This way, compliance or non-compliance will be determined. Any identified non-conformities are thoroughly described, while necessary corrective actions are implemented in parallel. The completed structure is also subjected to a final general inspection regarding dimensional properties and overall functionality.
All these control stages are carried out with particular precision and recorded in the protocol, which then serves as the basis for preparing the final report. This report is presented during a closing meeting with the interested parties. It highlights both strengths and weaknesses and includes the final result of the inspected structures expressed as a percentage.
AREAS OF ASSESSMENT:
- measurements of the structure – dimensions of the frame, sashes, mullions, and other profiles, as well as component parts (including drip caps, threshold),
- assessment of the installation of frame elements – SH, SA, MH, weather bar, and sash elements – drip cap, EKW, STK,
- profile alignment – including checking the rebate clearance,
- control of the sequence of performed activities,
- assessment of the correctness of threshold profile installation,
- assessment of the correctness of the hardware components used,
- overall assessment of the proper functioning of the final product.
WHO CONDUCTS THE AUDIT?
The audit will be carried out by one of our qualified technical specialists with many years of experience in the window and door joinery industry.
HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR THE AUDIT?
To prepare for the audit:
- Appoint a person (or team) responsible for carrying out the individual stages.
- Indicate the structure to be examined – you decide which structures will be inspected during the audit. These can include entrance doors or balcony doors in the configuration of your choice. You can designate both a structure made exclusively for audit purposes and products that will later be delivered to your client.
- Schedule the production date of the selected structures during which the audit will take place.
- Prepare the technical documentation – the essential required document is the technological production report for the indicated structures. Additionally, as supplementary documentation, you may prepare workstation instructions or any other technical materials, such as hardware installation instructions.
- Make sure that all necessary components for the production of the specified doors will be available on the day of the audit and address any additional issues that could negatively affect the smooth progress of the audit. Your time is valuable, and together we will make every effort to ensure the entire process runs as efficiently as possible.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF THE AUDIT?
Providing our clients with innovative, optimal solutions and technologies in the window and door industry is our goal and our specialty. Therefore, control audits of the correctness of the installation process are free of charge for you.
